Eid Al Adha Or Bakra Eid 2018 Date
Eid al-Adha is one of the main religious festivals of the Muslims. It is also called Eid al-Qurban or Eid al-Nah. In some country, it is known as Eid of the Kurbani or Bakra Eid. Bakra Eid 2018 will be held on 23rd August 2018 in India.
Eid and Azha are both Arabic words. Eid means festival or joy. Azha means the sacrifice.
History Of Eid Al Adha Or Bakra Eid
Prophet Hazrat Ibraham (peace be upon him) was willing to sacrifice his eldest son Hazrat Ismail (peace be upon him) in obedience to Allah’s command. This great sacrifice was taken before the year 3800 (solar) at the place called “Meena” near Mecca.
After being satisfied with his intense loyalty, Almighty Allah ordered Prophet Hazrat Ibraham (peace be upon him) to sacrifice an animal in place of his son.
In this great incident of constant obedience to Almighty Allah and unimaginable devotion, the sacrifice of animals is still in the form of symbols of Meena and self-sacrifice throughout the Muslim world.
Rules Of Bakra Eid
The sacrificial animal which is dedicated to Almighty Allah, and is distributed among relatives, especially the poor, according to the command of Almighty Allah, that is called the Eid al-Adha or Bakra Eid.
On this day, according to the unique sacrifice of Prophet Hazrat Ibraham (peace be upon him) in Meena, it is not necessary for Haji, but for all capable Muslims everywhere in the Muslim world, it is obligatory to offer this sacrifice.
The day of Eid-ul-Adha is according to the Arabic month 10th Jihajj.
The sacrificial animal age should be from the prescribed age, and it is preferable to be free from certain physical defects ( cough, crippled, ear-cut, horn-breaking, etc.). After the Eid Prayer, the time of sacrifice begins. The next two days (alternately three days) lasting and ending with the last sunset.
Camels, cows, buffalo for seven people, sheep, goats, and doves are allowed only for one person. Primarily cattle, goats, and buffaloes are sacrificed in India & Bangladesh. Sometimes the imported camels are also sacrificed.
After the sacrifice one-third of the meat distributed among the owners, one share of the relatives and the rest of the poor. It creates a chance for the poor to perform their duties and simultaneously develop good relations between the rich and the poor.
The skin of the sacrificial animal is allowed to use itself or to donate to others. But it is not possible to buy anything from the sale of leather, meat, bones, fat or any of their offerings. The skin of the sacrifice is donated to the poor or the poor students of the madrasa or orphanage.
The celebration of Eid Al Adha Or Bakra Eid
Like other Muslims of the world, Muslims of India & Bangladesh also celebrate Eid al-Adha with great enthusiasm in the proper religious environment. At this time, the Muslims went to the neighboring and relatives homes and exchange greetings wearing the new clothes.
Good quality food is prepared in every home. Other religious persons also joined the festival somewhere they are invited. A few days of official leave was announced on this occasion. Most of the people Who are living abroad, celebrate Eid by meeting their relatives and visiting their village home.
Eid Al Adha Or Bakra Eid Jamaat
Eid Jamaat held at almost every mosque in every place. Somewhere Eid Jamaat held in a big field. During this period, special programs were broadcast on radio and television and valuable articles were published in the newspapers by highlighting the significance of Eid al-Adha.
